Today, March 22nd, we celebrate World Water Day, a day that invites us to reflect on the importance of this vital resource for our survival. That's why, on a day like today, we want to highlight a very special project that we carry out in Spain: the Water x Waterproject. Because a planet without water is a planet without life.

What is Water x Water

The project was founded in 2012, together with Lanjarón , to raise funds for the NGO Aigua per al Sahel , dedicated to the construction of water wells in Burkina Faso.

This area, known for its accelerated desertification due to lack of rainfall, deforestation, and soil erosion, is in a state of extreme urgency. The NGO is working to transform unsafe water into water suitable for human consumption in rural areas of the country and improve their health and quality of life. Because this area is in a very critical situation, bringing water to these communities is more important than ever.

How to contribute to the Water x Water project?

You can only contribute to this project if you are in Spain. Every time you buy a bottle of Agua x Agua at one of Natura's spanish stores, you're helping to build wells in arid areas of Burkina Faso.

Each bottle costs €1, and Natura donates 50% of the value to the NGO Aigua per al Sahel. The remaining value goes to cover the costs of production, logistics, and distribution of the bottles.

Building clean water wells not only improves people's physical health, but also provides them with the tools for more prosperous, educated, and opportunity-filled lives.

The project in figures

We are very proud to say that, since 2013, more than 185,000 people have had access to safe drinking water. Thanks to everyone who purchased bottles of water, a total of €733,084 has been raised, enabling the construction of 125 water wells in rural areas of Burkina Faso. Building clean water wells not only improves people's physical health but also empowers them with a more prosperous, educated, and opportunity-filled life. Access to clean water is fundamental to development, enabling communities to overcome obstacles that limit their growth and well-being and opening up new possibilities for a better future.
