Raising awareness about the importance of protecting our natural resources is crucial for our survival. Today, on World Environment Day, we remember the need to care for the environment to ensure a sustainable future for present and future generations.

This is the perfect moment to reflect on the actions we take and their impact on the planet. Only in this way can we take measures to live as sustainably as possible.

At Natura, we are aware that our activities have an impact on the environment. We won’t deceive anyone: by simply existing, we have an impact on the world. Nonetheless, since our inception, we have worked to find a balance between profitability and principles. That’s why we collaborate with and support social and environmental projects to make the world a better place to live.

Today, we want to use this post to tell you about one of the environmental projects we are carrying out. You might not know this, but at Natura, we offset all the CO2 emissions generated by our activities through the Bosque Natura project.

What is Bosque Natura?

Bosque Natura is a project in collaboration with Saving the Amazon, an NGO fighting against the climate crisis by preserving the Amazon rainforest. And how do they do it? By planting native trees alongside local indigenous communities. This partnership began in 2020 with the planting of 1,777 trees in the Gran Resguardo Indígena de Vaupés and in Guainía, thereby offsetting the CO2 emissions we generate as a company.
This is the third year we have collaborated with the NGO, and since then, we have planted over 2,730 trees in the Amazon rainforest, specifically in plots benefiting eight individuals and in two communities.
These trees are growing and helping reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, specifically CO2. It is estimated that all the trees planted since 2020 have captured a total of 3,925 tons of CO2.
Money cannot be breathed, but CO2 can. Therefore, it is more than essential to act to care for and preserve the natural environment. People, companies, and governments all have a crucial role in conserving natural resources. Caring for the environment is an urgent necessity to ensure a habitable future.
