Misao Okawa is the oldest person in the world. Last Wednesday he fulfilled the 116 -year -old whop. Born in Osaka, Japan, on March 5, 1898, her family was dedicated to the manufacture of Kimonos. He married in 1919, and had three children, four grandchildren and six great -grandchildren. Okawa is one of the five living people today who were born in the 19th century.
Okawa, who currently lives in a residence for the elderly, was presented with a cake and candles with the number 116. He also received the visit of the mayor of Osaka, who gave him a bouquet of flowers. When they asked her to comment on her birthday, she said: "It's a long time." And the employee of the nursing home said that "she always says that the secret of living a long time is to eat a good meal and rest."
A woman who has lived in three centuries can tell us many extremely interesting things about life. Perhaps we imagined a great sentence about life, apparently very deep and brave. But not. Misao Okawa tells us that a life is a long time, and that in life you have to eat good food and rest. That is your secret.
Two great paradoxes, because life seems sometimes extraordinarily short, and because we tend to consider the hours dedicated to the table, sleep and rest as a waste of time. And yet it is quite the opposite. In life there is time for everything, if we really know what is the most important thing we want to do with it. There is time to work: neither more nor less than necessary. There is time to make friends, to fall in love, to have fun and also to cry. There is time for welcome and farewells. There is time to eat a good meal, time to wake up and time to rest. Misao Okawa tells us, who has three centuries of life and knows more than anyone about her.
