We love summer, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy the sun and the heat without dying in the attempt. Temperatures are getting higher and higher, and much of the blame lies with climate change.

This phenomenon is affecting tourism all over the world. While summer used to be synonymous with heavenly beaches and high temperatures, more and more people are choosing to visit destinations with more moderate temperatures.

We all want to enjoy holidays in the sun, but without it being a torture. Destinations where (a few years ago) we used to enjoy a hot (but bearable) climate, such as the Mediterranean area, now have temperatures so high that they are difficult to enjoy. On the contrary, they become a nightmare.

'Coolcation' is the term that describes this increasingly popular trend. The word, which comes from the combination of ' cool ' and ' vacation ', sums up what it would be like to escape from stiflingly hot destinations and choose places that are more attractive (meteorologically speaking).

Destinations such as the north of Spain, Copenhagen (Denmark), Reykjavik (Iceland) or the east coast of Canada are increasingly popular options for disconnecting from routine and escaping the heat of the asphalt.

We don't want to be the ones who create a need for you, but you have to know that, sooner or later, you will look for destinations similar to these and you will become one of the ' coolcators '.

What destination would you choose to spend your holidays?
