Once again this year, and with the same enthusiasm as always, we can announce the winners of the 28th edition of the Natura Award.
The Natura Prize has been awarded since 1994 to social and environmental projects that aim to change the world. Since then, we have supported more than 70 projects that work every day to generate a positive impact somewhere in the world.
In this edition, more than 80 NGOs and foundations have presented their projects that seek to contribute something essential to society and the environment. Projects that work very hard to continue with their desire to improve the world. And we are super happy to announce the two winners of the Award. A total of €60,533 distributed between social and environmental projects.
We are also particularly excited to announce that, for the first time, the Award has recognised the work of a project from Portugal, a country where Natura has a strong presence.
These are the winning projects of the 28th edition of the Natura Award.
The aim of the organisation is to empower local farmers, mainly women, by promoting organic and sustainable agricultural practices to improve access to food and meet basic needs. And the project has women as the active subject of transformation.
To this end, its main activities will focus on training farmers from a gender perspective, delivering starter kits, developing an incentive plan for farms to add chickens and rabbits, and creating a community greenhouse for fruit trees.
With a financial endowment of €24,533 to develop the project, 1,440 establishments will benefit directly and indirectly.
The project is therefore focused on training to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment, creating environmental patrols made up of children and forest rangers from the area, to involve them in a practical way in the reforestation of their territory. In addition, material will also be provided so that they can work in the best way.
The project, with a budget of €24,000, has the direct involvement of its community.
Its objective is to promote, educate and train, in a specialized manner, on Mental Health and to help in the prevention and rehabilitation of diagnosed people and their environment.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the NGOs that have submitted a project, our consultant Victor and all the people who work at Natura. Thanks to everyone's work, we keep the Natura Award alive. And, of course, congratulations to the winners!
