When his adoptive parents die, Hortense, a young black optometrist who lives in London, feels the need to meet his biological mother, who gave it for adoption as soon as he was born. After several investigations, he manages to meet her. And when he does, his mother, Cynthia, does not turn out to be at all the person she had imagined.
