In the world there are 795 million people suffering chronic hunger. This translates into problems studying, learning and progressing, risks in pregnancy and difficulties, in short, to lead a healthy life. Bad nutrition during the first two years of life causes serious growth deficiencies. 795 million is 11% of the world's population. In sub -Saharan Africa this percentage shoots, reaching almost 25% of the population suffering hunger. Angola, a country located in southern Africa, has the highest percentage of the population in a situation of food insecurity of the sub -Saharan Africa. 27 years of war, the longest war in Africa, have affected their economic system deeply. Their infrastructure were destroyed and their knowledge razed. A country that was previously the third coffee producer in the world changed totally because of the war. In Angola the data are discouraging. More than half of the population lives with $ 1.25 a day. Although 60% of the population lives in rural areas, only 6.8% of GDP comes from agriculture. Luanda, its capital, has become because of inflation in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Under this context, in 2010 Codespa begins to work in Angola. He works to return to the Angolan their food safety and sovereignty. Create field schools to teach peasants the knowledge that war stole them, helps increase their crops so that farmers are able to self -abuse and market with surpluses. After various studies, Codespa introduces a low -cost storage system so that the grain that is grown and surpluses can be sold creating a competitive trade through cooperatives.   In addition, Codespa supports and advises on the legalization of the land; It contributes to the fight against hunger, putting in their hands the necessary tools and knowledge so that they themselves are the protagonists of development. It is said that there is food security when you have sustainably access to healthy and nutritious foods. Angola was far from that, but thanks to the work of organizations such as Codespa, to companies such as Natura, and hundreds of anonymous people who make donations, are closer to reaching it.
