The Mataró Animal Protective Society (Spain) found a bitch abandoned by the street three weeks ago. The dog, which they called Engi, presented a leg malformation that prevented him from walking and required an urgent, complicated and face surgical operation. This operation is vital if you want to prevent the animal from suffering in the future serious joint problems and very severe pain.
The approximate cost of the intervention is 1000 euros, of which the protector lacks. Therefore, they decided to go to a crowdfunding platform to try to raise that money and thus save the life of the animal. The success of the call was so great that in less than 24 hours it was possible to fold that figure. Thus, ENGI may be operated and enter the adoption program. The president of the Mataró Animal Protective Society has stated that "citizens and no one else is the true protagonists of this story."
Sometimes we pay little attention to the virtual world that has been built around us in recent years. Yes, it is true that almost all have an email account and navigate on the Internet daily. It is also true that many have an account on Facebook and Twitter, and even administer a blog. But we can think that social networks are nothing more than an entertainment, an option to hang out. And social networks are like a newspaper on paper, such as a book, such as radio or television: tools to communicate. What they are going to convert depends exclusively on the use that each one of us gives.
Engi, which is a real bitch, can have a new life thanks to the virtual world.
